Recently, three members of the Chicago Section, Dr. Rafeeq Al Hashemi, Jonathan Levine and David Welch were elevated to Senior Member grade. Only 8% of IEEE’s approximately 416,000 members hold the Senior Member grade. For each of these newly elevated members the Senior grade demonstrates their extensive experience, reflects professional maturity and documented achievements of significance.
The IEEE’s criteria for elevating members to the Senior Member grade includes ten years of professional experience, five years of significant performance, and three references from current IEEE members holding Senior Member, Fellow, or Honorary Member grade. The achievements and references of nominated members is reviewed by a panel of IEEE members holding Senior Member, Fellow, or Honorary Member grade.
