It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Kozi, a dedicated and beloved friend, colleague and IEEE Life Member.

Marty spent his working life in engineering at a number of mid-size engineering firms in Chicago and the western suburbs and was instrumental in founding the DuPage Area Engineers Week/STEM Expo, which just celebrated its 33rd year with a record attendance of over 2,000 visitors. Through Marty’s diligence and passionate commitment to engineering, he helped grow the Expo to become the largest outreach event for Illinois Tech. Marty was also an IEEE life member.

Marty is a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology’s (IIT) Armour College of Engineering (BS EE ’61) and Stuart School of Business (MBA ’94). Marty also worked at IIT as an adjunct professor, proctor and professional volunteer heading up the TEAMS/JETS (engineering education groups) and DuPage Area Engineers Week/STEM Expo.

Marty is survived by his adored wife of 53 years, Barbara Kozi, a retired Illinois Institute of Technology and School of Applied Technology employee for more than a quarter century at the IIT’s Rice Campus, his beloved daughter, Maria Kozi and his endeared daughter-in-law, Madeleine England, and his beloved daughter Beth Kozi-Lester and endeared son-in-law, Mike Kozi-Lester.
