EMC testing of components and full vehicles has been carefully developed over decades, to include all of the on-board electronic and electrical modules.

Recent vehicle models have an increasing number of highly sophisticated modules associated with advanced driver features such as lane guidance . Additionally there are more diverse and complex sensors to support the features, and in some cases, over the air V2X ( Vehicle To X-Anything) communication systems. All these systems are included in the EMC test regime.

The presentation introduces current measurement / test standards and how they relate to the design of chambers used for EMC and antenna performance measurements. Then it discusses the pros and cons of chamber designs, highlighting the different techniques used. It concludes with examples of standard chambers that have been designed for both EMC and antenna measurements.
