Position Summary
The Hardware Design Engineer would be responsible to develop both microcontroller-based control systems and analog circuits for sensor feedback and control. The position requires analytical and communication skills to implement a design based on internal requirements and customer direction.

Position Responsibilities
• Electronic product design including both digital and analog circuitry.
• Develop Engineering/Product documentation.
• Electronic product/system debugging and testing.
• Provide input to development schedules.
• Interface with engineering team members, other internal departments (e.g. manufacturing, purchasing) and customers.
• Direct the work of technicians.
• Develop and implement test plans.

Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and experience developing equivalent capabilities.
• 2 to 7 years’ experience working as an Engineer in the design and development of electronic hardware at the circuit level.
• 1 year experience in a product development role preferred.
• Working knowledge of PCB layout and electronics manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of both analog and digital circuit design concepts.• Able to use CAD tools to generate schematics and layouts.
• Demonstrated ability to debug electronics utilizing electronic test equipment.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and product documentation.
• Familiarity with 8-, 16- and 32-bit microcontroller architecture and application to embedded systems.
• General understanding of heat transfer and thermal management as applied to power electronics.
• Ability to use software applications to obtain, understand, and modify BOMs.
• Ability to work with mechanical systems is a strong plus.
• Direct experience with power electronics (MOSFETs, IGBTs, H-bridges, motor control) preferred.
• Altium and PSpice analysis, preferred.
• Experience with Microchip or ARM microcontrollers preferred.
• Experience with EMC testing and compliance a plus.
• Knowledge of communication busses and protocols (RS-485, RS-232, MODBUS, CAN, I2C) a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile preferred.
