SUMMARY:EMC Society Chicago Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Agenda: \nDinner and Networking 6:30 to 7:00\nAnnouncements 7:00 to 7:15\nPresentation 7:15 to 8:15\nFinal Comments 8:15 to 8:30 \nTopic for The Presentation: \nNew IEC 61000-4-2:2025\, Edition 3.0 Electrostatic Discharge Immunity Testing-\nStandards Review and Practical Application-Demonstration \nElectrostatic discharge is one of the most common testing requirements for immunity from electromagnetic energy \, and is present in almost all immunity product standards. The new IEC 61000-4-2:2025\, 3rd edition has been published and is now in effect and replaces the older IEC 61000-4-2: 2008\, 2nd edition. This presentation will review the changes in the standard from edition 2 to edition 3\, and perform a hands-on waveform verification for ESD pulses. Additional consideration for other updates on compliance standards will also be reviewed. \nGuest Presenter: \nCarl Mueller\nRF Field Application Engineer\nAmetek Compliance Solutions\nSouderton\, PA 18964 \nBio for Carl Mueller \nCarl Mueller is an Application Engineer at Ametek CTS/Amplifier Research with over ten years of experience focusing on pre- and post-sales of EMC equipment. Carl has been instrumental in application design\, setup and product selection as well as trouble shooting and post implementation of EMC equipment. During his early years at Amplifier Research\, Carl was actively involved in product and system design\, development\, and testing as well as worldwide sales and customer support. With well over 20 years of experience in military systems integration and testing\, Carl has worked as Principal System Engineer on radar warning receivers\, communication jamming systems\, and aircraft simulated training systems. His background includes extensive client contact\, including on-site customer training\, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and seminars in EMC essentials. \nThis program is open all.\nPlease register so we can account for dinner guests at: \nJack Black\nChapter Chair\njblack@dlsemc.com\n847-537-6400
