IAS/IES Chicago Technical Meeting – Inside ATLAS: An Introduction to Argonne’s Superconducting Heavy-Ion Accelerator

Ben Bloomberg of Argonne National Laboratory will provide a presentation on ATLAS: Argonne’s Superconducting Heavy-Ion Accelerator.
The Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS) is a U.S. Department of Energy scientific user facility at Argonne National Laboratory, and the world’s first superconducting accelerator for projectiles heavier than the electron. The presentation will provide an overview of the history and operating principles of the accelerator. Technological considerations pertaining to control, maintenance and ongoing development of the apparatus will also be covered.
Attendees will receive 1-PDH credit upon request.
